The Glamma Rays will be headlining this community based show and helping to celebrate the music of Jessie Mae Robinson. 'Love' Ray or Malika Elizabeth as she is commonly known, has written a theatre production called 'Chart Toppers' all about her great aunt Jessie Mae, one of America's greatest, most under-rated songwriters of the 50's. Jessie Mae wrote dozens of standards which have been recorded by artists such as Nina Simone, Tony Bennett, Elvis Presley and Paul McCartney, to name a few.
Jessie Mae's songs will be performed by a great band, featuring Geneveive Davis (Pleasure Ray) and Pat Powell.
Join us for a night of soul food, soul music and good times!
